How The Herb Index makes money

We show ads from Google AdSense on some pages. Google AdSense may use cookies and similar technologies to show ads based on your past visits. You can learn how Google uses this data at policies.google.com, or manage ad personalisation at adssettings.google.com.

Some "Shop" buttons are affiliate links. If you buy through one, the store pays us a small commission (usually 3–6% of the sale). You pay the same price. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

We choose which products and stores to show based on the evidence and on each store's trust colour, never on the commission. We don't accept payment to list a product, change a rating, or write about a brand.

The research, safety and dosage sections are written from public sources like the NIH Office of Dietary Supplements and Memorial Sloan Kettering's About Herbs, and checked by two AI assistants and a human editor.

Cookies, reviews and privacy

The Herb Index itself sets no cookies and keeps no record of your searches. We count visits with Cloudflare's cookie-free Web Analytics. When you click a Shop Amazon.ca link, Amazon may collect information and place or read cookies in your browser to record the referral. See Amazon.ca's privacy notice for your choices.

When you send a review, your answers go to a Google Form owned by The Herb Index. They're read only by us and our AI assistants to improve the site, and they're never shown publicly. Don't include your name, address or medical records. An email is only needed if you want a reply.

Donations go through the payment site you choose on our donate page, which handles your payment details. We never see your card number. The Herb Index is not a registered charity, so donations aren't tax-deductible, and they never change a rating or what we write.
